Sibiu
In 2007, Sibiu was the European Capital of Culture.The city of Sibiu is one of the most visited areas in Romania. It holds one of the best preserved historical sites in the country, many of its medieval fortifications having been kept in excellent state since the 12th century.. Sibiu and its surrounding areas have many significant museums, with 12 institutions housing art collections, paintings, and exhibits in decorative arts, archaeology, anthropology, history, and history of technology and natural sciences.
Peles Castle is considered by many one of the most beautiful castles in all Europe. The castle is a masterpiece built in wood, stone, bricks and marble and comprises more than 160 rooms. The representative style used is German Renaissance, but one can easily discover elements belonging to the Italian Renaissance, Gothic, German Baroque and French Rococo style.It was the residence of Romanian monarchs.
Babele is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country,a place surrounded by legend. The name comes from some mushroom shaped structures, formed due to erosion and to different rock durity. 
The Bucegi Sphinx is another rock formation in the same area. The name comes from its sphinx-like appearance
